At FoodsMas, we understand the protection of personal data as essential to safeguarding the trust of our users. The responsible use of personal information allows us to protect the privacy of our community of exporters and buyers, while ensuring that our platform services are delivered with integrity, security, and transparency.

For this reason, FoodsMas collects, processes, and in certain cases shares information to facilitate international agri-food trade. This Privacy Policy is an integral part of the Terms and Conditions of FoodsMas.

Your express, voluntary, and informed consent to this Policy is a mandatory requirement to register, contract, or maintain any relationship with FoodsMas, in accordance with applicable data protection regulations (such as Colombian Law 1581 of 2012, the GDPR in Europe, and other local rules).


1. Who is responsible for processing personal information?

FoodsMas is responsible for the processing of personal data of registered users and platform visitors. FoodsMas determines the purposes and means of the collection, storage, and use of personal information, in compliance with applicable legislation.


2. What information do we collect?

FoodsMas may collect information in three ways:

  • Information provided directly by the user (during registration or when using services):
    • Name, company name, or tax ID.
    • Identification documents or commercial registration.
    • Contact details: address, email, phone.
    • Banking and payment details.
    • Certifications (e.g., GlobalG.A.P., HACCP, EU Organic).
  • Information collected automatically when using the platform:
    • IP address, browser type, device information.
    • Browsing history within FoodsMas, searches, and transactions.
    • Logs of access, returns, inquiries, and internal communications.
  • Information from third parties and legitimate sources:
    • Validations from fraud-prevention lists (PEPs, OFAC, etc.).
    • Credit information from public or private databases.
    • Verified data from logistics, financial, or institutional partners.

3. How do we use personal information?

FoodsMas may process personal data for the following purposes:

  1. Service provision
    • Identify and authenticate users.
    • Facilitate direct contact between exporters and buyers.
    • Manage orders, payments, and logistics (FOB, FCA, CIF, air or sea freight).
    • Issue invoices, certificates, and export documentation.
  2. Security and legal compliance
    • Verify identity and prevent fraud.
    • Comply with trade, customs, and sanitary regulations (ICA, INVIMA, FDA, EU standards).
    • Meet tax and legal obligations.
  3. Platform improvement
    • Personalize user experience.
    • Conduct market research and analyze commercial behavior.
    • Develop new services and digital tools.
  4. Marketing and communication
    • Share information about products, trade fairs, services, and commercial opportunities.
    • Offer memberships, promotions, or value-added services (factoring, insurance, ProduceData).

4. How do we share personal information?

FoodsMas does not sell or trade user personal information. It is only shared in the following cases:

  • Logistics and financial partners: for payment processing, cargo insurance, export or transportation.
  • Business partners: under cooperation agreements (e.g., ProduceData for price intelligence).
  • Transaction counterparties: to enable contact between buyer and seller.
  • Public authorities: when legally required by applicable regulations.
  • Credit risk centers: to comply with financial regulations.

5. International data transfers

As FoodsMas connects Latin American exporters with international buyers, data may be transferred to servers located in other countries. FoodsMas adopts contractual and technical safeguards to ensure adequate levels of protection, in line with the GDPR and other applicable regulations.


6. Data retention

Personal data will be kept only for the time necessary to fulfill the purposes described and to comply with applicable legal or regulatory requirements. Once the retention period expires, the data will be deleted or anonymized.


7. User rights

Users may exercise the following rights:

  • Object to the use of data for marketing purposes.
