The origin of our innovative vision
In 2019, the founder and CEO of FoodsMas, Alejandro Quevedo, was immersed in a revealing
experience during his visit to a passion fruit farm. In this scenario, the exotic fruit languished
without finding its way to the market, resulting in significant losses for local growers.
The root of the problem lies in the fact that the sales price of the fruit was considerably below
production costs. The lack of buyers in the area exacerbated the situation, threatening to leave
producers without an outlet and condemning crops to waste. This harsh reality posed an imminent
dilemma: the inability of producers to recover the investment from the first cycle would make future
plantings difficult.
This scenario, although unfortunately common in the agri-food supply chain, provided the spark that
led to the birth of FoodsMas. The company began with the mission of addressing the inefficiencies
inherent in the marketing of exotic fruits, proposing an innovative solution that would adjust
purchase prices to production costs.
In a span of just five years, FoodsMas has transformed the landscape of exotic fruit marketing in
Colombia and beyond. Facing inefficiencies in purchasing prices, the company has built an extensive
network of producers in Colombia and has built a solid ecosystem with solutions that facilitate the
commercialization of exotic fruits in a more efficient and reliable way.
